In cases where student video/recordings are under construction, we will soon include MIDI recordings of the pieces so you can hear the difficulty and sophistication level of the music our students are playing in record time.

This page will be updated weekly starting on 5/12/2008 until it is completed.

Student 1: Appalachian Lullaby by Craig Dobbins

This student was playing professional fingerstyle/classical solos after two and a half years of lessons.  Notice the subtle artistry and expressiveness of her playing, which is remarkable for such a short time studying fingerstyle technique, which is highly complex and difficult.

Purchase Appalachian Lullaby sheet music (off site)  To view the sample score, installation of free, extra Internet software may be required.  Visit Craig's site  To purchase CD/music for Appalachian Lullaby,

 Student 2

9 years old, has taken ONLY 10 LESSONS.  He can play the Spanish guitar solo "Malaguena" using all four of his right hand fingers.  Anyone who knows this piece, and how difficult it is to play "fingerstyle", will agree that this is guitar-teaching miracle.

Student 3: Wildwood Flower

This is an off-site link.  You may need added software that can be downloaded immediately from the Internet.

7 years old, has been studying flatpicking with us for about a year and a half.  He can play the Bluegrass Carter-style Solo "Wildwood Flower".  In the upcoming duet video with his dad, you'll hear how his lead playing is perfectly synchronized with his dad's strumming.

Student 4

9 years old, has been studying fingerstyle with us for 1.5 years.  Five months ago (12/07)he performed my adult-level arrangement of "Silent Night" at his church.  Some of the responses were: "It sounds like multiple guitars playing!" and "I was deeply moved.".  These are the kind of reviews you would expect for an adult professional guitarist, not a child in the third grade.
